Congratulations!!!
Today, we proudly congratulate the Wadesboro Fire Department on receiving a $10,000 Storm Response Grant from the Duke Energy Foundation!
This grant comes at a meaningful time following the recent water outage that impacted communities across Anson County. During that challenging period, our first responders worked tirelessly to support residents and help meet critical community needs.
We extend our sincere appreciation to the Duke Energy Foundation for investing in the Wadesboro Fire Department and helping strengthen its ability to respond to emergencies and better serve our community during future storms and unexpected events.

Boil Water Advisory Lifted
The Town of Wadesboro has officially lifted the Boil Water Advisory for all customers served by the Town's water distribution system.
Water quality testing has confirmed that the water is safe for drinking, cooking, brushing teeth, making ice, and all normal household uses. Customers may notice a temporary chlorine taste or odor due to the disinfection process, which is normal and remains within safe drinking water standards.
We sincerely thank our residents, businesses, utility crews, emergency responders, Anson County, state partners, and everyone who helped our community throughout this event.

The Town of Wadesboro is seeking Statements of Qualifications from qualified North Carolina licensed engineering firms to provide professional engineering, design, bidding, and construction administration services for the Wade Street Streetscape Improvements Project. The project is funded through the North Carolina Department of Commerce Rural Downtown Economic Development Grant program, with local matching funds provided by the Town.

South Piedmont Community College: Anson Advantage
South Piedmont Community College is offering Anson County residents a chance to attend college at little to no cost through its Anson Advantage program. The initiative provides funding for tuition and fees, allowing students to complete short-term workforce training programs—many in under a year—or reduce the cost of a two-year degree. Available programs prepare students for immediate employment in high-demand fields such as construction, healthcare, manufacturing, truck driving, welding, and early childhood education.

Today I had the wonderful opportunity to visit C's & T's Daycare and read a story to some very special little listeners! The children enjoyed gathering together for story time, sharing smiles, and letting their imaginations come to life through books.
Reading to young children helps spark a love for learning and literacy, and it was a joy to spend part of the day with these bright young minds. Thank you to the daycare staff and students for the warm welcome and for making story time so much fun!

Anson County 4-H Youth Promise offers after-school and community service or restitution programs designed to support youth and promote positive behavior. The after-school program provides a structured, safe environment during critical hours when youth are at greater risk for negative influences. Participants receive a curriculum focused on building life skills and improving behavior, along with academic support and tutoring as needed. The Community Service and Restitution component holds youth accountable by allowing them to give back through community service or monetary restitution, helping repair harm and strengthen connections within the community.

Trash Service Update
In observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Monday, January 19, 2026—a time of reflection and, most importantly, unity—the Town of Wadesboro offices will be closed.
As a result, trash service will be delayed by one day for the week. Monday’s trash will be picked up on Tuesday. Tuesday’s trash will be picked up on Wednesday, and so on. Please have all trash out by 7:00 a.m. on your adjusted collection day or the night before.
We regret to inform you that the Leave Truck is down once again for repairs. We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause and truly appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to complete the repairs as quickly as possible and get the truck back on the road.
